Happy Memorial Day!

It's been a minute. Not just since I've blogged, but since I have read most blogs too and I apologize. I honestly WANT to, I just have nothing crazy interesting to say. Plus, my computer screen took a crap after it fell off the bed for some stupid reason and now looks like this:

Mine is not quite this bad...mine has lines taking up about two inches on the right side. Better the right than the left I guess.

I had my blood drawn (AGAIN) for my Thyroid and now my levels are A-Okay. Under a 3, which is good. They like to see TSH between a 1-2 but mine haven't been below a 5 in months. So, that's good news.

We are currently, in Northern Michigan, being invaded but some visitors. "Tent Worms". They sound lovely don't they? Here, have a look see:

Tent worms on a hike that I went on with work people. Taken with my very own camera.

We did NOT have them "down state". These things are CRAZY. They make nests in trees and then grow and crawl out. I saw the nests weeks ago and now the worms are ALL over the place. Literally. I will take pics of our yard soon to show you. They are so bad that when I am driving slowly through the neighborhood, with my windows down (because it's been GORGEOUS up here), I can actually HEAR them popping under my tires. The roads are COVERED with little worm carcasses. It's like something from the Twilight Zone. Good thing I'm not grossed out by crawling things. I'm fine with spiders, ants, snakes, frogs...whatever. What I am NOT fine with is flying critters. Bees, those flying grasshopper things, dragonflies, deer flies, JUNE BUGS (GOOD LORD THEY FREAK ME OUT!), and moths.
The DISGUSTING "June Bug"...here in May!

Guess what the tent worms turn into? MOTHS! I don't even want to think about how many moths we're going to have flying around here, getting caught in my hair, in a couple of weeks. I came in from outside the other day and bent over only to have a June Bug drop from my head. AND, to top off the "Northern Michigan" fun, Sean came home today from the woods (coyote hunting) to find a tick on his leg in the shower. Eeeek! Those things can cause Lyme Disease! So now I am worried about the cats too.

Ticks. The one Sean pulled off was HUGE, about as big as the lower right one in this pic.

Work has been good! I actually have FOUR days off because I am normally off on Friday (#1), had to take Saturday off for our wedding shower (#2), off Sunday (#3) and off Monday for the holiday! Nice huh? What's even better is that THIS year, we are NOT tourists up here, we live here! It is getting super busy though, which is mildly annoying but I am not grumbling!

I planted 13 annual pots and they are all doing well except for one. Not sure what went wrong but it's d-e-a-d. We also have a tomato planter up so we'll see how the Roma's do. I don't like tomatoes plain but LOVE Roma's on pizza.

This morning I was looking out the front window, admiring the woods and listening to the birds when I saw two of these bad boys:

ORIOLES! I NEVER see Orioles. I have only ever seen an Oriole one other time. I saw two! They were across the street so I am contemplating buying some oranges to nail to a tree to get them to come on over to our house :) After I saw the Orioles, I wandered out back to fix the lopsided bird feeder and noticed that the Suet cake and hanger were GONE. Never to be seen again. A critter must have knocked it down and took it away. Good thing those things are cheap.

Hmmm...what else? Oh, my Mom and Grandma are heading up tomorrow for our shower. I am excited to see them and to have two of MY family members there. Of course this means I will spend 3-4 hours cleaning the house tomorrow but it needs it anyway so that's fine. I am also going to lay in the sun tomorrow and go for a run, all the while dodging tent worms! They hang from the trees and you don't see them until they almost hit you in the face...

OKay, I think that's all for now. Next post will be FULL of pictures, I swear! Any of you seeing Sex/ City this weekend? I want to but will probably wait until it's on DVD.
