Howdy! Happy Thursday! I work today, have tomorrow off, and then work Saturday.
It seems my VERY mild case of dissociative disorder is back after over ten years of being absent. This used to happen to me when I was nearly 20 years old. I went to the Dr. about it back then but they had no explanation. It wasn't until I was majoring in Psych that I learned about it. I describe it the same way the books do: "walking around in a dream like state, feeling "spaced out", and having trouble with memory, focus, and difficulty interpreting time passage". It usually happens to me, well it used to, during times of stress. It's my brains way of saying "F you, I'm outtie for a bit!" It usually lasts three days or so and I am on day three now. I don't FEEL stressed but obviously my brain thinks otherwise. I went for a run yesterday to try to clear my head and it seemed to have worked a little. Today should be better and the last of it. It's very annoying. It almost feels like I am drunk or high but I'm not. Yesterday I left my car keys IN the ignition all day while I was at work. I didn't notice until I went to leave work and couldn't find my keys. I walked back to my car and there they were! So, basically I have been a complete flake for the past 3 days. Yuck!
We had an AWESOME weekend! I had FOUR days off and it was glorious! My Mom and Grandma came up for our wedding shower, which was amazing as well! Sunday, we woke up hungover and went out on the boat with Sean's brother and his family. The weather was PERFECT! Monday was spent doing yard work. I got a $100 gift card for a local nursery here and checked it out Monday. I don't need any perennials, I have everything under the sun coming from my Mom and Aunt this fall. Our Aunt Debbie already brought me some irises, black eyed Susan's, day lilies, coneflower, lily of the valley, myrtle, and even a small teeny Lilac bush :) All of those are planted. Monday I had to dig a new flower bed, which hurt, in the front yard. I went to the nursery and could NOT resist buying a HUGE iris plant that already has a bloom on it! These irises are HUGE! I will post a pic soon. I also bought soil, a "normal" sized Iris plant, a "praying hands" Hosta, and some annual called a "blood leaf". Those are all now planted in the new front bed, which has plenty of room for whatever else I am given. Sean mowed the lawn and weed whipped Monday too.
The shower was GREAT! We had the hot dog wagon there and tons of other food! Lots of family and friends showed up and showered us with things that we registered for! We got alot of needed things and some luxury items too! We got our two fondue pots from my Mom and Grandma and Sean's parents got us an awesome wireless outdoor speaker! The receiver uses an iPod and it plays out of the speaker! It's pretty cool. Coolers, bath towels, beach towels, glasses, dinnerware, aprons, knives, gift cards! Oh, and Sean's buddies got us that singing fish from the McDonald's commercial...you know..."give me back that filet o fish, give me that fish!" Sean wanted to register for it, I said no, and he STILL got it :) Good times.
This weekend will be busy again! I HAVE to finish the wedding invites! I also have to finish the Thank You cards for the shower. I also have to work both jobs Saturday. Sunday we'd like to get to church and we need to meet with the manager of the reception site to decide on food. *Whew*
But for now...pictures it is!
Day lilies, blood leaf, and small irises :) That's bone meal sprinkled around too to help with their root systems :)
HUGE irises on the left. I still need to border the bed with something and throw some mulch in there but I can't do that until I get the rest of the perennials in the Fall. Oh, and that's Bee Balm on the far right...wanted it away from the porch as it attracts bees!!
Wedding shower :)
Our Bride and Groom "coozies" and one of our new coolers (we got a bigger one too!)
The crowd watching us open gifts :)
My Grandma and my Mom :)
Pregnant deer about 30 feet from our house :)
Tent worms all over the house!! YUCK!
