The good stuff...

Well I made it back in one piece from my trip downstate. It was a short trip, left Saturday morning and got home Sunday evening. I spent a few hours with my sister, niece, and dad on Saturday. It was the annual "Pumpkinfest" in my hometown and my sister and I hit up the craft show that was held in the middle school. Not much caught our eyes but we did get some yummy dip mixes. I didn't care what we did, as long as I got to see my niece, who turns one on October 11!!

Kaydence and Papa...true love.
Sporting the outfit I bought her before she was even born :) Of course, no pink or purple :)

I headed over to the Fowler's house after that. I was a nanny for the Fowler's for 4.5 years. I left about a year and a half ago but remain very close with them. Their youngest son is now 6 and a half. I was his nanny from age 4 months so he is important to me and always will be. They held their annual Fall party and I hung out there and spent the night. The Fall party, and every other party I go to, was not as much fun because I am only able to enjoy water. Yes, I miss beer. I don't miss it enough to buy non-alcoholic, but certain social settings aren't as fun considering most everyone is drinking and I usually end up annoyed at their behavior. I would love to be one of those people that can have a blast in any situation but I'm not.

I went to register at Babies R Us on Sunday before heading home. Yes, I am only 15 weeks along but I don't know when I will be down there next and we don't have a store up here. I think the shower will be in January so at least that's taken care of. Plus, it was fun. I was a little discouraged by how much certain things cost but we'll have everything we need regardless. I am most excited about this Baby Einstein activity mat. I LOVE Baby E products and the DVD's. When I was a nanny, Will would sit for 30 minutes and stare at the screen, watching animals and listening to Beethoven. I truly think it's good for the brain. Plus, it allows Mommy to take a shower or put dishes away. I also think I will be using the Moby wrap quite a bit. As soon as I figure out how to fashion it so that it's safe and sturdy with baby inside.

I made sure to stop at Whole Foods, something else we don't have up here and I wish we did!! I got some apples and loaded up a container from the salad bar to eat in the car. SO good and SO good for you! Oh, and I had to stop at Macy's to refill my perfume bottle because the Macy's up here doesn't have the refill station. Mine's been out for a few months and now I don't have to smell bad anymore.

All in all it was a good productive visit. Traffic was great and the weather was fine.
