I am sitting here dreading going to the gym. I WILL go but I am not happy about it. I wish I was one of "those people" that loved working out. I love how it feels AFTER, not before or during. I have not been running, I am not comfortable with that being 5 months pregnant. I'm sure it would be fine but I don't like the thought of all of that jarring around in there. I have been spinning, walking, and doing the elliptical. To date I think I have gained about 10 pounds. This morning my scale read 126, I was 116-118 pre-baby. I'm okay with that. Even if I gain a pound a week from now on I will have gained 25-30 pounds, which is fine. I will say though that on a 5'2" frame, 30 pounds is quite drastic.
Anyway, things are going well. I feel kicks or punches more and more. Usually after I eat or after a glass of juice, which I drink on purpose to get baby moving :) I have been having some feelings of "girl" but not sure why. Most think it's a boy, not sure why on that either.
I finally broke down and ordered some maternity clothes from Old Navy. I got 5 shirts, a pair of cords, and two pair of leggings for $126! One of the shirts is awful but it was $8 so I bought it and will wear it.
Sean and I finally nailed down our delayed honeymoon. We were married in August and didn't want to go anywhere when it was so gorgeous in Michigan. We will leave for St. Croix next month for a week. I'm totally excited despite my hatred and anxiety over flying. I plan on wearing my bikinis, hopefully I can squeeze into at least one of the three. None of my summer shorts will fit I don't think so I will spend most of my time in skirts and cover ups. It's vacation, anything goes!
One of the weirdest things about this pregnancy is that the hair on my legs has virtually stopped growing. I know some women experience the opposite but for me it's just stopped. Weird. I'm not complaining believe me. Last night I woke up with a horrible leg cramp in my right shin. It happened a couple of times before I actually sat up and massaged my leg to get it to go away. Another common issue.
This next part may gross some of you out, it may interest others. I am 100% confident with my decision though and am VERY excited actually....
I am hiring a company out of central Michigan to come to our house (supervised) within 48 hours of the birth to dehydrate the placenta and put it into capsules. It's called "placental encapsualtion". It will give me back many hormones and nutrients that I will lost when I have the baby. It will help with post partum, decreased energy, and milk production. I have been researching this for months and feel it's beneficial in many ways. Sean is fairly resistant but accepts it. My Dr. is fine with it. I've come across two basic reactions: "that's disgusting!" and "COOL!" It's not like I am frying it up people and putting into stew, although some people do that too. It's like any other vitamin, in a capsule, taken with water. I will have them ready for me when I get home and the cost is minimal (about $200). The company, consisting of two women, will come to the house and perform the process. They will then sanitize the entire kitchen and leave. My mom will probably be here with them, she's the one who initially sent me an article about this.
So, that's all for now. Things are moving along. My next appt. is early December. Doc says the baby is "perfect: with plenty of fluid, ideal placental position, and measuring about 3 days bigger than the due date (no biggie). I will order the remaining cloth diapers within the next couple of months. We'll begin getting the room ready and hopefully my nesting will kick in!
Have a great weekend!

Ok Sarah, I have to admit...I would fall into the category of people who think that's just a little gross. I've seen those things, ugh! I do hope that it helps you out though with all of the postpartum stuff.
The honeymoon sounds fabulous and I have no doubt you'll be in the bikini and looking and feeling fabulous!
God bless!
Trudy
I think the placenta things sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't want the dehydrating job, myself though, lol!
I'm glad your feeling well.
Mimi
Oh, I know another blogger who did that with her placenta. I should find the link...
Anyway. YAY for you going on your honeymoon!!!!! :)
You can take the placenta home with you? How are you going to store it for 48 hours? In the fridge?
I apologize for all the questions - I'm just incredibly curious. But as long as your doctor is ok with it, sounds like a good idea.
And enjoy your honeymoon trip! Beware those TSA agents! :o)
For some reason this morning I was thinking back on blogging and explicitly remembered your blog. I wondered how you were doing. The last time I read your blog, you were still engaged, not married. I was wondering if you'd gotten married yet, etc.
I can't believe you're pregnant, too! That's so great! I should really check in on people more often.
